Thursday, May 31, 2007: Day 6
An eventful, tiring, yet profitable day. We taught the last class that my family will visit on their trip. Again, many good questions. At the end of class, Eunice came and asked, "Are any of your family Chrstns.?", and then talked with them about this for several minutes. After class, we went to Huaqiao (a neighbor school) for my Chinese lesson with Vincent (Tony also visited), after which we took a short walk around the school and had a pre-lunch visit with many of the 'family' at Huaqiao. To get home, we took the famous 'tu-tu'--a three-wheeled, motorized transportation device! A fun ride. The weather was incredible today--the best day this year. We went to a park downtown called 'Peony Park' and walked around for an hour or so. Many people were there, and many good opportunities for pictures (including THREE brides!). A very friendly elderly man (whose English was exceptionally good) talked with us for a while and played his 二胡(erhu: pronounced 'are-who'), a beautiful traditional Chinese instrument. We then walked up for a quick trip to Wal-Mart--fairly similar to the American versions. We ended the day with supper at Victor and Leah's, a local Chinese pstr. As with Tuesday night, a great time of fellowship, hearing of the Work in his life. Hard to believe that day six is completed. Sleep beckons.
