Haerbin, January 2007

Mathew and I were able to take a short trip to Haerbin, the coldest city in China, the first week in January. Haerbin is a beautiful city, with much Russian influence. At times you forget you're in China. A good time. Stayed with a brother (his son's photo is in the show--a really cute kid) and met several others. The snow and ice sculptures were spectacular. It's amazing what He allows man to do with His creation. And the KFC at the end...well, this has only been recently opened, about a 7 minute bus ride from our apartment. You don't realize what that means. That's like having a Ruby Tuesday's open up on Frozen Creek Road or Pike Plains Road. Well, maybe not that momentous, but it is nice to have one nearby.
